What is Hypertension ? Helpful tips for survival

Hypertension is another type of high blood pressure. It can lead to serious health complications, including heart disease, stroke, and sometimes death. Blood pressure is the pressure that acts against a person’s blood vessels. This pressure is dependent on how much resistance the blood vessels can withstand and how hard the heart works to withstand that pressure.We have listed some of the points regarding what is hypertension for you.

High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart disease. It can lead to stroke for heart disease, heart failure, and arteriosclerosis. Keeping blood pressure under control is essential to leading a healthy lifestyle and reducing these risks.

Two types of high blood pressure

There are two types of high blood pressure. Primary hypertension and Secondary hypertension. According to them primary hypertension is a medical complaint that is usually faced by 90%of people. Let’s look at the causes of high blood pressure as well as ways to monitor it and keep it in the normal range.

Management and Treatment

If you keep high blood pressure under control in life, you will be safe from hypertension too.

Regular physical exercise

Experts and doctors recommend that people suffering from hypertension must do 150 minutes of moderate or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic exercise. While other people should also do this exercise while walking, jogging, cycling or swimming are some of the appropriate exercise activities.

Stress reduction

If you know how to avoid or manage stress, it helps in controlling blood pressure. Meditation, warm water baths, yoga, and going for a long walk are all relaxation techniques that can help relieve stress because they teach complications of high blood pressure or hypertension. Smoking can increase blood pressure, however, quitting smoking protects against high blood pressure, other heart diseases, and lung cancer.

Use of medicines

Medicines for high blood pressure should only be used as prescribed by a doctor. Doctors often recommend lower doses. The choice of medication depends on the individual and any underlying medical condition. However, this medicine is also prescribed by the doctor, the patient should not use these medicines without the doctor’s advice. Anyone taking anti hypertensive drug should exercise.You must read the label while purchasing the drug from any medical store. Before using the medicine, you must check its expiry date.

Reduce salt intake

In most countries of the world, people consume 9 to 12 grams of salt. The World Health Organization recommends consuming less than 5 grams of salt per day to reduce the risk of hypertension and other related health problems.
